Founded in 2017 by Timon Ruban and Sebastian Schaal, the company Luminovo helps its customers use artificial intelligence. The startup just recently shifted its focus to the electronics industry. The goal is to become the leading operating system for electronics development. In #CoronaUpdate, co-founder Sebastian Schaal says about his startup:
“At Luminovo, our goal is to get technical innovations on the market earlier and faster because we think that’s necessary to solve the biggest problems of our time.”
Just before the crisis began, the startup collected two million euros in a pre-seed financing round. Nonetheless, the corona crisis hit the Munich startup at an inopportune time in its corporate development:
“Here at Luminovo, we’re currently in a process of transformation from the AI engineering company that we were for the last two years to a product-based company with a focus on electronics.”
Luminovo is relying on virtual team events
Project business has been hit particularly hard by the crisis. As Schaal reported from his home office, his company still managed to quickly adapt to the new situation — which also includes virtual team events, such as pub quizzes.
The company wants to make use of the time during the crisis to work on product development and then get started as soon as industry customers are ready.
