#CoronaUpdate with Uniki: “We thought our product would be perfect for the crisis”

With their cloud server Elly, the Munich startup Uniki is digitizing the work of small and medium sized companies – which seems like the optimal product for the current corona crisis. Co-founder and Managing Director Roman Leuprecht talks about the actual impact the crisis has had on his company so far in our #CoronaUpdate.

A private cloud server for small and medium sized companies, with project management, time recording, video conferencing, data exchange and a social network: Uniki co-founder Roman Leuprecht said about the server Elly in our #CoronaUpdate:

“We thought our product would be perfect for the crisis – but we were surprised instead”

Uniki in the corona crisis: New customer boom followed by a sharp decline

At the beginning of the crisis, the Munich-based company registered record-breaking months, was able to acquire an abundance of new customers and support their existing customers in transitioning to working from home.

But then many companies started to curb their investments, which became apparent for Uniki as their new customer business seriously dwindled.

For the time after corona, Leuprecht is expecting an increase in revenue, because:

“The crisis has demonstrated one thing: Modern IT infrastructure and location-independent working are extremely important. That’s something we can easily offer with a level of safety and convenience that no one else has.”
