Munich Startups That Are Promoting Urban Mobility

Regional trains and public transportation are experiencing an all-time high in Germany thanks to the 9-euro ticket. The fact that fundamental change is needed in mobility – especially in urban environments – is something these five startups are also aware of.

Ottobahn — Ottobahn: With a gondola system on rails that is meant to operate five to ten meters above road traffic, Ottobahn wants to solve the traffic problem in urban environments. Users can call the cabins with an app and get on or off at any time along the route. An algorithm calculates the fastest connections for all of the gondolas in real time along the route. The transportation system is also meant to be carbon neutral.
