The ESA’s Business Incubation Centre Bavaria (ESA BIC Bavaria) seeks entrepreneurs using space technologies in a non-space environment. Two of its startups recently did go international.
Building Radar expands abroad – office space in San Francisco
The German Accelerator enables Building Radar – the “Google for construction projects” – to expand their business operations and to use office space in San Francisco.
The Munich startup provides a global, satellite-based online search engine for new construction projects. This innovative solution opens new doors for the use of precision satellite imagery worldwide.
The startup is currently incubated at ESA BIC Bavaria and was awarded the overall winner of the Copernicus Masters 2015 competition, both initiatives managed by Anwendungszentrum GmbH Oberpfaffenhofen (AZO) – space of innovation.

Core technology of PiMON sold to international technology group
In December 2015, PiMON, a company offering fibre optic based monitoring systems for pipelines, reported a successful asset deal with the technology group Beltron Telecommunications Ltd., based in India. Just recently they published more details about the deal.
The international technology group purchased a part of the assets from the ESA BIC Bavaria Alumni PIMON GmbH. This contract signing is a milestone for PiMON, as the company is expanding and focusing on the Indian infrastructure expansion programme.
