Munich Startup: Who are you and what does Spoons of Taste do? Please introduce yourselves!
Spoons of Taste: Spoons of Taste is an innovative and young food startup from Munich and stands for healthy and sustainable snacks – our focus is on well-being, a healthy gut, enjoyment and going easy on resources. In addition to our first range of products Feel Good Bites, we have been able to completely finance our innovative Aharabar range thanks to our successful crowdfunding campaign and are now getting ready to launch Aharabars on the market.
Spoons of Taste was founded in March 2020 by Agata Andryszczak (30) and her partner Sylvain Georjon (32). The two met while studying in England. Agata studied business and finance and Sylvain studied automotive engineering.
Munich Startup: What problem does your startup solve?
Spoons of Taste: Snacks are a part of daily life. People are really starting to look for tasty, nutritious and sustainable food to support their life on the go. This trend is known as the “snackification” movement and is distinguished by three main factors: convenience, portability and health. Here at Spoons of Taste, we not only want to provide tasty products, but also do something good for your body. Our consumers don’t have to feel guilty about eating our Feel Good Bars or Aharabars between meals or after exercising, because we produce our snacks with the best ingredients and support the “1% for the planet” organization with our turnover.
Our motto: We better align the food we eat with the planet we love.
Adaptogens naturally support the body
Munich Startup: But that’s nothing out of the box!
Spoons of Taste: Most snacks work by providing additives, sugar, nuts or dairy products and aren’t a real alternative. Our snacks, however, are free of additives and don’t contain any processed sugar, nuts, soy or dairy products. To give an example, our latest range of Aharabars aren’t your average bars, but rather an innovation in the snack industry. This nutritious bar gives you your daily dose of vitamins and is full of what are known as adaptogens, which naturally support the body to help provide things such as improved sleep, better concentration and even a higher energy level. Our Aharabars contain natural organic ingredients, plant proteins, vitamins and adaptogens and are vegan and allergen-friendly.
Munich Startup: What have been your three biggest challenges so far?
Spoons of Taste: Our 14-month mission to develop our Aharabar had its highs and lows like a rollercoaster. We had to face several challenges, such as developing a recipe for combining the ingredients of the snack bar with plant proteins, vitamins and adaptogens so we could be sure that our bars taste good and give our customers energy throughout the day. We also had to find a production partner and finance it all with crowdfunding (the bars are 100 percent financed). But all of the work, time and effort have paid off and we’ll soon be able to get our innovative Aharabars out to customers.
Spoons of Taste has its sights set on Europe
Munich Startup: Where would you like to be in one year, and where in five years?
Spoons of Taste: We would obviously like to grow and expand our product portfolio with more innovative snacks in the next year so we have something to offer everyone. Spoons of Taste believes that diet and lifestyle are two of the fundamental principles on which health, happiness and harmony are based. We want to become a leading, Europe-wide snack company that offers snacks to go and helps keep customers full of energy throughout the day.
In five years, we plan on being available in the majority of German supermarkets and drugstores.
Munich Startup: What do you think about Munich as a startup location?
Spoons of Taste: Munich is a diverse and international startup oasis and offers a broad network for exchanging ideas. Especially for startup newbies, you can find everything and everyone here to help you with your startup idea.
Munich Startup: Tea or coffee?
Spoons of Taste: Matcha latte on a normal day, tea on a good day and coffee on a particularly good (and long) day.
